Among the several goals of the Center for the Study of Young Drivers (CSYD) is providing guidance to communities that are interested in improving teen driver safety. We can assist in developing programs and policies, analyzing and interpreting data, and creating focused strategies to address issues in your community. Our goal in working together with communities is to help make the best use of valuable resources to improve adolescent safety.
We hope you’ll take a few minutes to explore of this website. It describes some of the main reasons for the high crash rates of teen drivers. It also discusses potential solutions, including what works to improve teen driver safety – and just as importantly – what doesn’t work. But that’s just a start. We believe we can be most useful by working directly with community members to develop customized efforts suited to addressing teen driving safety issues in their community.
